A Week

15 March 2010

My life seems like its flying before me. How did it become mid-March? How is it becoming spring? Suddenly we are outside after lunch, the kids playing, me in my light coat feeling warm in the sun. Soon it will be summer. I don’t feel like I’m wasting my time, but it sure is going. I must make a note to truly enjoy it.

Last Sunday we celebrated our Double Anniversary—M and I’s 8th wedding anniversary as well as three years of Gem joining our family. I love my family! We didn’t do anything crazy but had a lovely weekend—a date between M and I, party with friends, a successful carrot cake. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

I admittedly was taking my time setting up a haircut for Theo so he took matters into his own (un-capable) hands with my sewing siscors that he fished out. I was then forced into taking him to get a proper cut the very next day. Its a tight buzz. I didn’t have many options.

Little Lady and I went on a date together with my friend Y and her daughter. We went to an afternoon showing of ‘Disney On Ice’. I would say after you’ve freshly watching the Winter Olympics you will not be impressed by the skating. But it was cute and Gem had a good time.

I enjoyed having some moments together just the two of us. I honestly haven’t been out with just her since Theo has joined our family so I thought it was high time we introduced Mom & Daughter dates.

Then on the way home Gem informed me that she wanted to do it again—but this time with Theo. As much as they bicker at times Little Lady is very attached to her little brother. It made me happy.

Sounds like a very fun week! I am just waiting for one of my littles to get a hold of the scissors.

Those are the moments you hold on to. When times get rough you’ll treasure these little sentiments. I have one with Jed and Emma that still makes me cry every time I think about it.

Sounds like Theo gets in as much mischivous as Morgan. Isn’t it great to see how far Gem has come since you arrived home with the little guy? It’s amazing how time flies when you aren’t waiting for news or to travel. Happy anniversary a little late to all of you!

Oh the scissors. They are a dangerous tool when it comes to little hands and hair. Y said she had a great time with you and G. I love mother daughter dates. . .even in my 30s. Can’t wait for your b-day celebrations. Thanks for your message. I just got the internet in G town. It’s truly a miracle.
